The short version: Prise is a local-first application. Your data stays on your device. We don't collect, store, or have access to your conversations, snippets, or any content you create.
What Prise Stores
All data created in Prise is stored locally on your computer:
- Your conversations with AI models
- Snippets you capture to your stash
- Notes and drafts you create
- Tags and organizational data
- Application preferences
This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to use a third-party AI provider.
Local AI (Ollama)
When you use Prise with Ollama, all AI inference happens entirely on your machine. Your conversations are processed locally and are never sent to external servers.
Third-Party AI Providers
Prise allows you to bring your own API keys for third-party AI services such as:
- Anthropic (Claude)
- OpenAI (GPT-4, etc.)
- Google (Gemini)
- Other providers you configure
Important: When you use these services, your conversations are sent to their servers and are subject to their respective privacy policies. We encourage you to review:

Analytics and Telemetry
Prise may collect anonymous usage data to help us understand how the app is used and improve the experience. This may include:
- App version and operating system
- Feature usage patterns (which features are used, not what content)
- Crash reports and error logs
This data is anonymized and does not include any of your conversations, snippets, notes, or other content you create. You may be able to opt out of analytics in the app settings.
Updates
When you check for updates, your app may connect to our servers to see if a new version is available. This connection does not transmit any personal data or usage information.
